They came for our daughters

They came for our sons

For it is not long before shooting innocent people

With no repercussions

Becomes daughters raped

Behind closed doors

When war and domination are the focus

It is not long before our sons

Are forced to fight and die for a “cause”

If no is no longer allowed

Only yes sir and obedience

Our rights are lost

To protect the ones we love

Providing food and shelter

Showing up for work

Hugs and kisses

That comfort a nightmare

Will not protect them anymore

From the dark.

Find a policeman

Is no longer the stop drop and roll

To stranger danger

When any man can wear the vest

Only men wear the vest

That snatches people off the street

And uses children as a trade

For giving up safety and freedom

Men are broken

And have been all along

From the moment we sent them

To hunt

Their strength will always be a weapon

A mothers protection

Weak

Do you hear the echo

Of the oppressed

Who have been fighting all along

Telling us the world is broken

While we bathed in the blessed oblivion

Of race, religion, and brainwashed marital bliss?

Will a female army arise

Forced to bear arms

As we hold our children to our chest

Against the onslaught

Of male aggression

All of us bitches

At the blockade

On breeding ground

We are forced to carry?

For we were all children once

And mothers are meant to care

As our hearts bleed

For our neighbors in humanity

All god’s children

Calling for the women to lead.
